MSU Denver Alumni Association
The MSU Denver Alumni Association is a 501(c)(4) non-profit corporation established in 1971 with the original purpose of “creating and maintaining the spirit of fellowship and good will among all of the alumni of Metro State College to encourage a better informed alumni body to promote the subjects and programs of the Alumni Association as a medium for best serving the College in the community.” Since then, the Association has refined its purpose, structure and governance various times, with the most recent efforts currently underway. After a two-year hiatus from operation, the Board resumed meetings this year and will be naming new directors July 1, 2017 to begin operating with a narrow, strategic purpose — to create broad and meaningful opportunities for alumni to engage with each other, the University and the larger MSU Denver Community in ways that support the strategic goals of the University.
The Alumni Association has three primary areas of focus:
MSU Denver Champions are passionate supporters willing to serve as advocates to inform and influence public policy decisions that impact the University. We are a network of advocates - including students, faculty, staff, alumni and community leaders – who create a strong, collective voice on behalf of MSU Denver.
The Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 1995 with the purpose of supporting students as they work toward completing their degrees. Now over 20 years later, the fund has raised more than $260,000 and the Alumni Association Board is dedicated to utilizing these funds to make the greatest impact possible.
The Alumni Association strives to create meaningful engagement opportunities for alumni with each other, the University and greater MSU Denver community. Events are just one way we do this!
