Meet Dr. Lisa Suter!
Dr. Lisa Suter is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English where she teaches courses in the Rhetoric, Composition, and Professional Writing minor. Students wishing to meet the increasingly complex writing needs of future careers or graduate degrees can take Rhet/Comp/Pro classes such as Professional & Scholarly Writing, Rhetoric & Style, Rhetoric of Social Media, and more.
Dr. Suter has had a chapter accepted in a book, Nineteenth-Century American Activist Rhetorics, which is forthcoming from the Modern Language Association (MLA) next year. Her chapter, titled “Acting Like Rhetors: U.S. Women’s Rights in Amateur Theatrical Performances” focuses on the feminist discourse in short plays written and staged at girls’ schools in the late nineteenth century.
Dr. Suter is also the new Faculty Senate Caucus Chair for the Arts and Humanities, so if you are an AHUM Senator and you want to serve on a Senate committee, please drop her a line at email@example.com and she will get you started!
